Kingstones.I.D.S is a 5-year-old small family-owned business. This gives us the wonderful flexibility to pay each and everyone of our participants with person-centred care and attention. Being a small business, we are able to communicate and compromise any issues that you may have; whether your funding has run out or your budget has changed, we will work with you to provide you the care that you need.
Our staff are carefully selected based on experience, qualifications and personality! We are a team filled with family values, outgoing and joyful presence and high quality care. We encourage friendship and connection between our staff and participants, which supports comfort and allows our team to work around each clients varying needs.
At Kingstones.I.D.S, we have participants who have been with us since the very beginning! We are extremely grateful to have the chance to know all of our members on a personal level; priding ourselves in the attention to detail that is difficult to receive by much bigger service providers. Being a small business also promotes easy communication between our directors Joan and Kalvin Vaega, and parents/guardians/carers.
GROUP SUPPORT
We are a group-support focused service, providing group support Monday through Friday, 8am to 3pm. Our daily support is based around our 3 pillars of success; MUSIC, LIFESKILLS and FITNESS. Our daily activities will vary term to term but will always follow the base of our 3 pillars.
ONE ON ONE CARE
We provide 1:1 support 7 days a week. We can provide 1:1 care amongst group-support (8am-3pm), or we can supply 1:1 from 2pm – 5.30pm on weekdays. Our weekend 1:1 support can work around your needs, whether it’s accompaniment to doctors appoinments, grocery shopping or community engagement, we will tailor a support plan to suit your schedule and support.
RESPITE/STA
Our respite services function from Friday – Monday and is open to all participants. Through or Respite services, we will encourage community engagement, support social skill development, reinforce general knowledge on history and art as well as provide basic understanding on personal hygiene and cleanliness. We also understand that parents/guardians/carers are constantly caring for their loved ones, and at times can feel like there is a lot on their plate. Our respite services give carers the opportunity to rest while their loved one is with a service they can trust.
Being in the Disability Support industry, we acknowledge that there are many participants of the NDIS that are neglected and abused by services and support workers. According to The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, people with disabilities are 3 times more likely to experience all forms of abuse than those without a disability. Considering these statistics, we understand the utmost importance of having a service where participants feel comfortable, safe and feel like they have a voice.
We encourage ‘your choice’. Your choice to choose or leave our service, the choice to negotiate a care plan that works for you, the voice to report any issues that you may be having at home, in the community or at our service. We take every precaution and every complaint extremely seriously, putting our participants needs as our top priority.
